All Welcome!

A regular practice is essential if you would like to continue to benefit from your experience of mindfulness training, particular for those seeking changes in ‘trait’ associated with longer term improvements in self-efficacy.

 

It is natural for our meditation practice to ebb and flow, so whether your practice has waned post-course, has reached a stumbling block or is flourishing, come along to support your ongoing mindfulness journey.

Researched benefits of regular mindfulness practice include:

  • a greater capacity for relaxation and calmness
  • less worry, anxiety and lower instances of depressive episodes
  • enhanced emotional agility, resourcefulness and resilience
  • improved self-confidence, engagement and creativity
  • better sleep quality
  • clearer thinking and decision-making.

As social beings, community forms an important element in the maintenance of a mindfulness practice. The support of both an instructor and fellow meditators encourages

  • continued personal growth,
  • ongoing integration of increased awareness into personal and working lives and,
  • the courage to work with and where necessary challenge any unhelpful personal and/or organisational behaviours.

To join our continued practice group you must have completed an 8-week mindfulness course or an established meditation practice, including an understanding of working with difficulty during meditation.

Tuesday Morning Meditation Group

A weekly* opportunity for 30 minutes of lightly guided meditation for course graduates to:

  • practice with others who have completed a (workplace or public) mindfulness course
  • nourish, cultivate and develop your continued mindfulness practice.

 

There’s no charge for these sessions**, and no need to book – just email us (relax@yorkmbsr.co.uk), including details of the course you attended or your current mindfulness practice so that we can send you a link to access our Zoom room. Once you have the link, it’s the same each week*, and you’re welcome to attend as many or as few as you’d like.

Join us at 7:20 am for a 7:30 am start. Please be aware that late arrivals will not be admitted so as not to disrupt the guiding of the meditation.

* You will be emailed dates ‘termly’; please be aware that we take breaks over Easter, Summer and Christmas/New Year. 
** As mentioned above, there is no charge for these sessions. If you would like to make a donation, please contact us; any support you are able to offer is greatly appreciated.

 

 

Online weekend practice mornings:

Our ‘Weekend Practice Mornings’  allow more space to meet fellow meditators and ask any questions you may have.

These two-hour practice sessions run from 8am to 10am and include:

  • welcome and intro
  • two 30 minute meditations
  • time to ask any questions you may have about your personal practice.

  • strengthen skills learnt during your course
  • keep your mindfulness practice fresh and inspired
  • reconnect with and/or deepen mindful awareness.

These practice days have a theme focussing on particular practices that nourish your inner being and inspire your continued journey.

 

They include 

 

  • a series of guided meditations
  • periods of silence and gentle exercises supported by an experienced facilitator
  • time for discussion, relaxation and connection with fellow meditators.

  • relax, refresh and rejuvenate yourself
  • explore topics of relevance as your mindfulness practice develops
  • nurture your mindfulness and compassion skills to use daily life helping you become and remain calm, relaxed, focused and present.
  • maintain, deepen or reconnect with your meditation practice – to dedicate time to cultivating mindful awareness, maybe even coming to value simply ‘being’.

 

Recommended for current course delegates as well as for past delegates whose practice has waned or as a way to nurture and support your ongoing journey.
